2023-2024 Audition Date (for invited players) will be on Friday February 16, 2024.  Due to the number of auditionees and the necessary planning for a more beneficial experience, we do not make special accommodations regarding the audition date.  Besides, we normally have dinner with current studio members the night before and a luncheon with everyone on the day.  Please arrange accordingly.  If you are unable to attend due to unavoidable school/professional events, please let Dr. Tse know.

The submission deadline for all applicants to file the SOM supplemental application will be January 16, 2024.  (Link to this form will be available soon) *Please make sure you apply to the U. of Iowa AND the School of Music BEFORE sending your recordings. •  School of Music application and recording must be received no later than January 16, 2024.
  • An invitation to audition, or otherwise, will be sent after your recording has been reviewed. Each recording will be reviewed carefully and no second try in the same audition period will be allowed. Therefore, please ensure your recording/video is of the highest quality in performance and audio.
  • Due to the nature of audition and the number of applicants, we will not be able to provide individual comments. All decisions made will be final.
