Iowa International Saxophone Archive

Iowa International Saxophone Archive

The Rita Benton Music Library at the University of Iowa invites donations of scores, manuscripts, books, recordings, photos, correspondence, and other documentation for the purpose of establishing the International Saxophone Archive. The Archives will serve as a research center, accessible library of scores and recordings, and an archival space for saxophone history. Donations included the Thomas Liley, Eugene Rousseau, and Kenneth Tse papers and recordings. The library already houses over 800 scores of saxophone literature gifted by Iowa alumnus saxophonist Eugene Rousseau. This archive will have a reciprocal relationship with the Association of the European Center for Saxophone in Bordeaux, France.

The Rita Benton Music Library holds over 200, 000 items—books, scores, recordings, and other materials—in its collections. The library’s Rare Book Room contains over 3,000 books, scores and manuscripts. Other collections of note include the Himie Voxman Archive and the Goldman Band Library.
